Photos - Spain - Seville
Due
to a combination of the complex Spanish motorway signs,
Debbie's excellent and unique map reading ability and questionable
advice in the Caravan Club book, we ended up at the Camping Seville
camp site. The guide said it was easy to find and excellent for visiting
Seville
but can suffer from aircraft noise. Well it was right about the noise.
The
entrance to the site is literally at the end of Seville Airport runway,
in fact, it actually cuts through the landing lights. They couldn't
move it further away otherwise it would be on a very busy, very noisy,
motorway.
We
were guided to our spot which was right in the middle of a group of
Irish gypsies. I couldn't set up because it started to rain. The swimming
pool was empty. The bus to Seville did not run from the campsite out
of high season. I was ecstatic with joy.
That
afternoon the sun came out and we took a drive into Seville. Once into
the old town, we found Seville to be a great place. Unfortunately there
was terrible traffic and nowhere to park. After the peace and quiet
of Portugal it was all too much for me, I had to get back to our runway.
The
aircraft noise stopped at 11:30pm and started again at 6:30am. The
thought of another day at this haven greatly assisted in our decision
to move
to the coast.

Set up, but ready to escape
