Photos - France - Agen

There are not many times in life that your expectations are truly exceeded, but this was one of them. We stayed at St Hilaire de Lusignan just outside Agen and the site was absolutely idyllic. Our pitch was in a forest just next to a small river; in the morning bread and croissants were delivered to our pitch and after breakfast the children fed the ducklings and then went fishing. There were pigs, a goat, chickens, a playground, swimming pool, it was just like a scene from The Famous Five.

Shady retreat

I had my Birthday while we were here. The children bought me an air gun (how did they know I wanted that?) so we went to the woods and shot the life out of some paper targets, excellent!

It is difficult to do the countryside justice with mere words. It is like the best of Kent, only better. Vast green fields and valleys with falcons hovering above, small villages with little old men sitting outside their houses. At any moment I expected to see a man on a bike wearing a black and white striped shirt and onions around his neck. It all begs the question - why did we bother with Spain?

(for a movie of the children on the trampoline, click here. A separate page will open, it may take time to load as it is quite large. Click OK to run the Active X controls, they only play the movie for you)

Breakfast al fresco

It was VERY hot

The surrounding area is very picturesque

A village lead lined public urinals, with flies

It didn't take us long to get into the French way of doing things

Not quite sure what the Spanish are saying to the Germans as they leave the country
